Douglas J. Patton
Government Relations Douglas J. Patton practices in the area of legislative and regulatory affairs with specific emphasis on land use and economic development. Mr. Patton is experienced in administrative and regulatory reform of municipal entities in addition to having an extensive legislative background. Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Patton was Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development for the District of Columbia. He also served as the Chairman of the Business Regulatory Reform Commission entity which reformed business and consumer regulations in the District. He also served as vice-chairman of the DC Board of Zoning Adjustment. Mr. Patton has other career experience in banking, cable television, and political consulting. Also, Mr. Patton has significant election law experience since he served as the ex-officio representative from the House of Representatives on the Federal Election Commission for over eighteen years.
